Blueline Taxis was founded by Colin and Audrey Shanks in 1958. Blueline was born with one car, an Austin Morris which had a thin blue line across the side, hence the name. Ian Shanks, who took over the family business in 1990, aged 27, along with his brother Paul and sister Jane, after his fathers untimly death, has pushed Blueline Taxis to become the iconic brand they are today with the help of their family who all hold senior positions within the company.
